Alateen Chairperson's Message

Welcome to the 48th Annual San Fernando Valley A.A. Convention with Al-Anon and Alateen participation.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Alateen Chair this year, and I know we are going to have a great Convention!

I started attending this convention with my family in 2019, but we were all sidelined when the pandemic hit. We were only able to see each other via zoom for almost two years, so it is awesome to be back in person once again this year.

The thing I love the most about Alateen is the friendships we make. We come together to share our stories, and are able to move forward in recovery with each other's help. With all of the friendships I have made, Alateen has started to feel more like a family rather than just a bunch of kids who sit in a circle and talk. It feels like a family that will never be torn apart, and one that will be around forever.

No matter what I'm going through, I know I can rely on my Alateen peers to be there for me. That is our message for the weekend. That know matter what you may be facing, there is hope and recovery in the rooms of Alateen.

I'd like to thank our A.A. Chair, Kevin B., our Al-Anon Chair, Karen, my Alateen Committee and all our AMIAS and Alateen sponsors for their help throughout this year. Thank you for all of your service!

So, we hope you'll join us this weekend as we learn to "Let Go and Let God" and enjoy an amazing weekend of fun and fellowship.

Thank you for the honor of letting me serve as this year's Alateen Chair!
