Alateen Chairperson's Message

Welcome to the 50th Annual San Fernando Valley A.A convention with Al-Anon and Alateen (pending) participation.

I am so excited to be the Alateen Chair this year. I've been going to Al-Anon for almost two years now and I’m so grateful to be able to help out with the convention this year. Alateen is a space that allows people like me to discover themselves. Before Alateen I felt lost but through my weekly meetings I was able to discover myself again. I learned a lot about myself and my family while making friends with other kids who have gone through similar experiences.

Two years ago if you had asked me where I would be, I wouldn't be able to tell you. Alateen has allowed me to grow into a version of myself that I am truly proud of. Alateen has taught me that no matter what I'm going through, good or bad, there is always someone who is there for me. Through this convention, I hope to welcome newcomers and help those in Alateen to find a new piece of themselves.. I've found family at these meetings and I hope you all can too.

I'd like to thank our AA Chair Robert,  our Alanon Chair Dorly and the AMIAS’ and my committee.

I hope to see you all this January at SFVAAC this year! Our focus this year is, “We stood at the turning point.” Come join us to explore what this means through meetings, workshops, and crafts.

Once again I am so excited to be on this amazing team working on the convention. I'll see you all there!
