Our Mission
We are dedicated to planning and executing an annual convention for the members of Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon Family Groups and Alateen.
What We Do
Now entering its 51st year in 2027, the San Fernando Valley AA Convention is an annual gathering rooted in the principles of AA and supported by local volunteers. The weekend convention includes:
AA and Al-Anon Speaker Meetings
Marathon and Topic Discussion Meetings
Hospitality Room
Workshops and Panels
Sobriety Countdown
Anyone interested in recovery from alcoholism is welcome! The convention is open to AA members, Al-Anon members, family, friends, and anyone seeking information about the Alcoholics Anonymous program.

The convention is hosted at the Warner Center Marriott, Woodland Hills (located at 21850 W Oxnard Street, Woodland Hills, CA 91367).
Discounted Group Rate: Room rates for convention attendees start at $169/night (plus tax) for single or double occupancy.
How to Book: You can reserve directly through our special Hotel Reservation Page to get the discounted rate automatically, or call the hotel directly and mention the "SFVAA 51st Annual Convention Jan 2027".
Booking Deadline: To guarantee the discounted rate, you must book your room by Thursday, January 14, 2027. Rooms within the group block sell out quickly, so early booking is strongly recommended!
You can register online in advance or in person at the registration desk when you arrive. Pre-registering online is recommended to avoid long lines at check-in and to secure tickets for limited-capacity events. All ticketed events must be purchased during the pre-registration period. Also, save $5 by pre-registering compared to $35 On-Site Registration at the hotel
Your registration badge gives you access to all general speaker meetings, workshops, panels, and marathon meetings throughout the weekend. Special events like the Saturday Banquet or specific entertainment activities may require separate ticket purchases.
Marathon meetings run continuously throughout the convention. They offer an open discussion space for anyone needing a meeting or continuous fellowship at any time, day or night.
Yes! SFVAAC works alongside Al-Anon family groups to provide a full slate of Al-Anon speaker meetings, panels, and joint AA/Al-Anon workshops throughout the weekend.
Conventions depend on trusted servants! You can volunteer for greeter positions, marathon meeting chairing, registration desk shifts, or hospitality room setup. Visit our Volunteer Pages for more information
