Ana R — 2027 AA Chairperson

2027 Convention Theme
“Together We Recover”

Welcome to the 51st Annual San Fernando Valley AA Convention! May your weekend be filled with fellowship, laughter, inspiration, & the life-changing power of recovery. It is one of the greatest privileges of my sobriety to serve as your trusted servant for this year's convention.

A Spirit of Gratitude & Service

First & foremost, thank you to the 2027 Convention Planning Committee for your dedication, hard work, and countless hours of service. Your commitment to carrying the message & your spirit of unity have inspired me and so many others. I hope each of you is proud of what we have accomplished together.

Whether you are greeting attendees at the main entrance, warmly welcoming a newcomer at the registration desk, guiding a fellow member to a Marathon Meeting, volunteering your time in the Hospitality Room, working tirelessly behind the scenes, or simply taking a quiet moment to sit and visit with a member in need of a friend, please know that your dedicated service truly matters and makes a profound difference. Every genuine smile, every meaningful conversation, and every single act of kindness you offer contributes directly to creating a warm, inclusive, and inviting atmosphere where recovery can flourish and take root. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving so generously of your time, your talents, and yourselves to support our beautiful fellowship and sustain the spirit of our community.

I also want to thank everyone who continues to attend and support the San Fernando Valley AA Convention. Your participation is what has allowed this convention to thrive for 51 years. Together, we continue a tradition of fellowship, service, and hope that has touched countless lives.

Our theme, Together We Recover , reminds us that through unity, fellowship, and service, we continue to carry the message of hope to the alcoholic who still suffers.

The Miracle of Fellowship

I attended my first San Fernando Valley AA Convention in 1997. Watching hundreds of recovering alcoholics come together filled me with hope that I, too, could recover. Although I felt overwhelmed, the Marathon Meetings carried a continuous message of hope throughout the weekend. The Opening Ceremony, Banquet, and Spiritual Breakfast showed me that sobriety wasn't simply about not drinking—it was about discovering a new way of life filled with joy, laughter, friendship, and purpose.

My hope is that everyone attending this year's convention experiences that same sense of hope. Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning to strengthen your recovery, may this weekend remind you that you are never alone. May you leave with new friendships, renewed inspiration, and a deeper appreciation for the miracle that Alcoholics Anonymous makes possible.

It is my sincere hope that, regardless of whether you are attending this convention for the first time or seeking to further strengthen your recovery, you depart with a sense of renewed optimism, meaningful new connections, and the enduring reminder that you are never alone. Our theme, Together We Recover , reminds us that through unity, fellowship, and service, we continue to carry the message of hope to the alcoholic who still suffers.

On behalf of the Convention Planning Committee, thank you for being here. We are honored to share this special weekend with you.
